love!

I was having a conversation about this a few days back with a friend from home, and here is my stance on the subject.
Do I want a girlfriend? yes!
Can I wait for the right one? also yes!
Where is she? I don't know!

Anyways, I found this at Taco Bell tonight when we went for dinner, and it got me thinking about all the people that God has blessed me through...and hopefully them through myself. This one goes out to all of you guys (and gals)--you rock!

there's a monkey in our bathroom!

No, really, there is! I spotted him after getting out of the shower tonight...I wonder how he managed to stay hidden for the year and a half I've used this bathroom! We've already showed a couple people...you should come see the monkey too! Maybe we'll nab a photo of him sometime.

Football!

Yeah, so we played football against the off-campus folks tonight. It was sweet. We won by two touchdowns...they nabbed a quick one at the beginning and after that we shut them down everytime. These guys were mostly the basketball players and stuff...Anyways, it was cool. I didn't get my mech and kin done tonight, but we did get our Mech of Materials presentation done (on snowmobile suspensions...)

I also went down and cheered G2 on as they played G3...the gals played good, especially considering they hadn't practiced together yet...From the way they were pulling together at the end, I think their next game will go very well. G2 rocks!

Oh yeah, and I went up to MSC for this chapel credit-slash-meet missionary people and Freezy wound up feeding me this silkworm larva cocoon thing. Apparently they are prized over in Asia someplace but it was like eating some squishy thing out of a stagnant pond to me, and I quickly ate some other things to drive the taste from my mouth...I really feel I earned that chapel credit ;)

My grandpa Decker is going in for surgery soonish to have a hematoma operated on, which in his case is a little bubble of blood between the protective layers around the brain that is pushing on his speech and memory centers, apparently having formed due to blood-thinning medication...so hopefully that goes well. I'm praying for my family a lot lately.

inch by inch

I found an inchworm today on my shoe, and I let him ride around on my thumb.

Inchworms make good temporary pets because they are fairly active sometimes, but other times they stay very still, so they can perch on you. Plus, the way they squinch around and have those big cute eyes, they are very cute. Clearly. I like them.

I gave the inchworm a bath in the sink and then let him go in my mint.

First and foremost.

Well, the LeTourneau paintball team rocked out today over in Tyler. We played a three man tourney, which we (historically) always lose. Jordan, Justin, Kyle, myself, and Jimbo came along, and stopped for Quizno's on the way. You know what? I'm not very impressed with Quizno's. They had cool ads, but they're more expensive than Blimpies (my personal favorite sub place) and my meatball sub wasn't very warm, either. Anyways,

After two good games, Justin's gun, Jordan's gun, and my gun all began to have bad trouble and we lost three games very badly...which was disheartening. On top of that, we were very cold. It was cold.

Then, we started replacing batteries and diddling with regulators and suchlike and so forth, and we got some guns back up. I borrowed Kyle's gun for a few games and it worked okay, and then I did the necessary surgery on my gun to replace its battery, and it worked. After we got our guns back up, we played two perfect games in a row, and then moved into the final to play two more perfect-scoring games. One of those involved acing the best team from the preliminary rounds. Then we won our final game. I was so hyper on winning, it was nuts, and they gave us some money for winning, and we went home. We played really well.

I shot people in the face.

this dream I had...

Well, last night I dreamt that Someone told me about this stash of artifacts or some such and so I dove into this lake and popped out in the cave where they were, and there was this table and a bunch of shelves, and on the shelves were all these things. I looked them over and there were stacks of large gold coins, and electronic equipment, and a couple of big piles of paper. I looked through the papers and they were all these really cool posters of airplanes, well, illustrations of airplanes. I looked at the gold, and then took the posters and left.

Break and stuff!

I recorded stuff over break to put in here. Here it is:

Supercalifragilistickexpialidocious!

Caught Mary Poppins on the telly for the first time in a while. Not only is Bert the ultimate gentleman, but is also totally the original gangster. If you don’t believe me, dig his rapping bit followed by a dance with his pants pulled real low. You will believe.

Some good quotes from lately:

“I was saving the beef jerky for some later time. Too bad it turned out my roommate wasn’t.”

“What do you get for being a VIP customer at Best Buy?” – “Lots of mail!”

Been filling my time with friends and family, though not in that order. I spent 5 hours the other day on ice—literally—skating and iceboating (Which I will have pictures of, the iceboating I mean)…awesome exercise and good fun.

Christmas is out and New Year’s is coming…yippee. I’m halfway through
vacation already? Dah!

I read somewhere once, “Heaven is where the police are British, the chefs are Italian, the mechanics are German, the lovers are French, and the whole thing is being run by the Swiss. Hell is where the chefs are British, the mechanics are French, the lovers are Swiss, the police are German, and the whole operation is being run by the Italians.”

I also just picked up the album “The Private Press” by DJ Shadow. Good stuff, especially “Fixed Income,” “Six Days,” and “Mongrel Meets His Maker.”

Hope everyone else is enjoying themselves and getting all relaxicated.

New Year’s Eve update…(Since I’m writing this on the home computer to
upload later…)

Have you ever noticed that when people say they don’t stereotype people, they really just mean they try not to negatively stereotype others?

Spent New Year’s eve at my friend Megan’s apartment at GVSU with some other folks…the food was good and we all talked until about 4 AM…then I crashed on the couch until 11:30.

---------------------

It was a great break, but I worked at it so I was juuust ready for school by the time it rolled around. Now that I'm here I just gotta get an override and register and I'll be golden.
