yay

Well, I'm feeling good right now.

First reason is that thanksgiving is in a coupla days, which'll rock. I'm heading up to the casselberrys' place in oklahoma for some food and comp'nay.

Second reason is that, well, I was bumming around thinking I would most likely need an extra semester to complete my degree since I'm failing mechatronics. However, I just threw together my schedule for next semester after running a degree audit, and I can STILL finish my degree out in four years even and take Mechatronics again next semester. It'll only be 17 hours, even. Now I just have to not fail anything else. God's taken me this far...

ZHHHHWWEEEEEEEEEEE

So today we broke out the Turbine-powered remote control helicopter.

It is pretty hardcore.

It has a little computer in charge of the Turbine (which is pretty much a real jet engine the size of a jar of peanut butter) and it more or less starts itself up. I was in charge of holding a little detachable computer that tracks the RPM and temperature of the engine during start up. So we get it going and it goes

POP

POP

SHOOM...FWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

And I watch the little display I'm holding go from 6,000 RPM up to 40,000 RPM and the temperature go from 100C to 500C in a matter of seconds and this thing is roaring, and the whole time I'm wondering when the clutch will grab and make the rotor blades choppa my head off. They didn't though. We flew it a little before we started haveing mysterious battery problems, so, we'll be working on it. It was still a pretty neat experience. The heli is huge...

edit!
Here is a linky to a video of a partial start-up of the helichopper. Right-click save as.

Facebook

So, facebook.

Interesting concept...though in LeTourneau's case it seems to have turned into an only slightly glorifed version of the so-called personal ad. Seriously though, why would most people of your same gender want to know every last bit about you? Actually, it can be interesting to a point, and it's nifty for seeing what your friends are up to I guess, though I think blogs > facebook by ratio of about 1k:1.

Yes, I did sign up and you can search me out, though you get to sift through my information for the truth between a lot of stuff I wrote in there because it was late and seemed hilarious at the time. Nobody better take it seriously...heh heh.

I'll probably fix it later. But I might keep that picture, because it rocks. What picture, you ask? better check it out yourself! http://letu.facebook.com/profile.php?id=159100563
